THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VOCABULARY GAMES IN DEVELOPING ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

This article explores the role of vocabulary games in enhancing oral communication skills among secondary school students. It examines how game-based learning, particularly through vocabulary-focused activities, contributes to students’ speaking fluency, confidence, and vocabulary retention. The study draws on classroom observations and a review of pedagogical strategies used in English language teaching. Results indicate that vocabulary games create an engaging learning environment and significantly support the development of students’ oral proficiency.
