Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of teaching technical vocabulary in English classes for engineering students. It explains how technical terms contribute to academic success and career readiness in engineering fields. The study outlines effective teaching methods, including contextual learning, word formation, and digital tools. It also suggests practical classroom activities like diagram labeling and project-based tasks. Challenges such as abstract terminology and teacher subject-knowledge gaps are also addressed. The paper concludes that targeted vocabulary instruction is vital for enhancing students’ communication skills in technical education.
