METHODS OF IMPROVING LEGAL AWARENESS AND LEGAL CULTURE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIETY

Abstract

This study analyzes the importance of raising legal awareness and legal culture in the development of society, as well as the methods applied in this process. Legal awareness refers to citizens' understanding of their rights and responsibilities, as well as their respectful attitude towards the law. Legal culture, on the other hand, reflects the society's attitude towards laws, their acceptance, and the degree of adherence to them. These two concepts complement each other and ensure the stability of society. The study examines methods such as legal education, the role of mass media, state policies, and the participation of civil society. Through legal education, opportunities are created for the younger generation to learn about laws; the importance of mass media in disseminating information about laws and the active involvement of the state in legal reforms are emphasized. Additionally, by promoting the active participation of civil society, necessary conditions can be created for the development of legal culture within the community. The results of this study are expected to be useful in developing future strategies for enhancing legal awareness and raising the level of legal culture.
