This article explores the artistic and historical-cultural aspects of Uzbek mosaic art. It highlights the role of mosaics in Uzbekistan’s architectural heritage and their reflection of national cultural and spiritual values. The study delves into the historical evolution of mosaic art across two major periods: the pre-Islamic era, influenced by Zoroastrian and Buddhist traditions, and the Islamic period, which brought about the prominence of geometric patterns, floral motifs, and Quranic inscriptions. Particular attention is given to the harmony between architecture and mosaic design, emphasizing how historical conditions, religious influences, and cultural exchanges along the Silk Road shaped this unique art form. The analysis also underlines the significance of the symbolic use of colors—blue, turquoise, white, and black—and their aesthetic and spiritual meanings. The article concludes by underscoring the need to preserve Uzbek mosaic art as an invaluable cultural heritage for future generations.
